The Joy of Giving

Kenya is one of those places that you have to experience. The landscape is absolutely beautiful, but even more than that, the Kenyan’s exude a joy that is unmatched. I have had the amazing opportunity to visit Kenya twice and serve alongside my Kenyan friends and this place holds a special place in my heart.

In early October, I was presented with an opportunity to assist an organization called NewVines International with a virtual fundraiser to help raise support for their small business education endeavors in the communities of Kenya. One of my business goals, is to come alongside small businesses and non-profits to help them succeed and this was an exciting opportunity for me to do so.

About NewVines International

NewVines International provides training, tools, and capital to help people lift themselves out of poverty and exploitation.

In 2019, NewVines International has worked with approximately 450 churches, the Rose Women’s Foundation and Teen Challenge in Nairobi and in the last 3 years NewVines has trained 184 men and women as Senior Trainers in 15 groups who impacted another 340 people in subgroups? Including spouses and children, this training has impacted over 2,300 people to the glory of God!

I love the mission of NewVines International. NVI hosted their first ever virtual concert featuring the House of Hope Choir (Kenya), and benefitting women-owned businesses affected by COVID. We joined the Hope Kids Choir and the Hope Connection Choir as they performed traditional African worship songs.

During this concert, we heard testimonies of how NVI has impacted the lives of those that attended training and how it has changed the future of their families. Check out the photo collage below of some of the work NVI is doing in Kenya.

The Joy of Giving

  1. You can literally feel the joy on their faces from the work you’re doing there! Incredible! We take so much for granted, but it’s especially important during the holidays to give whenever possible to causes we care about.
