About IMAGING USA

It is important to me, as a professional photographer and an entrepreneur to invest in personal growth and education. I have learned over the years that my best learning style is to have hands-on experience. That being said, I was excited to attend the PPA (Professional Photographers of America) conference held in Washington DC this year.

Imaging USA is the longest-running photographic conference, trade show, and exhibit in the USA, attracting 10000 professional photographers each year.

This year, I had the opportunity to attend the conference in-person with a couple of my photographer friends from the Flourish Academy and we had a blast learning and practicing new techniques to level up our skills in order to give our clients the best experience ever.

This year, I attended a couple of pre-conference classes to learn how to develop your portrait style and creating amazing product photography. But I think, hands down, my favorite part of the conference was the pop-up photo walks. Here are a few of my favorite:

Lighting with Scott Robert Lim and Stella Pro Lights

This was an amazing photo walk with Scott Robert Lim where he demonstrated lighting techniques for low-key and high-key lighting. Our model was amazing, Scott was extremely helpful and I learned so much about proper lighting angles to achieve such different looks.

Photo walk with Sean Lara Photography and pro prints

I had another amazing opportunity to participate in a photo walk with Sean Lara Photography, as well as worked with some amazing models to learn posing and using off-camera flash to create a dramatic look to your portrait photography. Here are a few of my favorites from this walk:

Overall, Imaging USA was a great learning experience and I am extremely excited to incorporate what I learned in to my business to create amazing portraits for branding sessions, corporate headshots and more.
