I had the opportunity to photograph completed landscape projects for Good2Great Landscape Co for their website and marketing needs.
From their humble beginnings in 1996 as a lawn care service company, Good2Great (G2G) has grown into so much more. G2G has become a top choice for design, installation and maintenance of landscapes for homes and businesses in the greater Pittsburgh area. G2G is the perfect solution to all of your outdoor needs. They offer many quality services including landscape/hardscape design and installation, outdoor lighting, irrigation, lawn maintenance and snow removal services.
Typically, I photograph these finished projects in the mid-morning to mid-day range on very sunny days because who wants to see a photo of a beautiful pool with storm clouds in the background? One of my tips for taking these photos in harsh sunlight is to use a Neutral Density (ND8) Filter. This allows me to control the light coming in to my camera sensor which helps to avoid a blown out sky while keeping all of the details in the photograph.
Below is a before and after of an original photograph that was shot using an ND8 Filter and then edited in Lightroom. The editing for this photo included lens correction, adjusting the highlights and shadows, dehazing and spot removal to remove the brown spot in the grass top right.
