Beat the Heat

There’s no better way to beat the heat than quench your thirst with a nice glass of ice cold water. Throw in a few slices of lemon and strawberries and you have a tasty way to stay hydrated during the hot summer months.

One of the things I love is photography and I am always looking for new and creative ways to challenge myself and learn new skills. I have been tossing around the idea of learning food photography for some time. I think incorporating photography with my love of cooking and baking will make for some fun opportunities, especially in the colder months, to learn new techniques.

As part of this project, I used a SnapIt photo backdrop board for flat lay or food photography to give a consistent base for the water jar, glasses and fruit to sit on. This allowed for an amazing contrast of colors, between the “counter top” and the fruit. As you can see, when you zoom in on the photo, it appears to be one solid background.

  1. This looks super refreshing, especially with these temperatures the past week! I love the pullback shot; it’s incredible how the right backdrop can transform an image through our lenses.
